This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are inspirational! They inspire me to teach in ways that will reach each and every one of them on an individual level. They are special students with special needs. They have been identified with Autism as well as for some, Specific Learning Disabilities. My students are intelligent and eager to learn. They can be silly and playful at times. They love to learn new things and show what they already know as well. But most importantly, they love school and I want to make sure that continues!
The things that I can teach and use to make learning fun and meaningful will help my students grow as important, productive members of our school community and society.
Learning for my students must be hands-on. Learning for them must be interesting. Learning for them must be active. Being active participants in their own learning is most important and most beneficial to the development of their minds and bodies. Materials that help us to keep our learning organized are also important. Things that allow for family participation are important as well.

My Project
My students with Autism have sensory needs that have to be met throughout the day to enable them to focus on the lessons in class. Wobble Cushions are a fantastic way for students to sit, wobble, and meet these sensory needs. The Wobble Cushions are not only comfortable to sit on, but they allow students to move and wiggle without causing much distractions to others.
Getting the wiggles out helps the brain focus!
These seats will be beneficial to my students' growth in all academic areas because attention and focus will increase as students silently wiggle around while learning. With your donations, I will be able to provide a much-needed seat for each student. I envision distractions decreasing and learning increasing. I hope you will share in my vision!
