Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the best in the city! They are curious and thoughtful and love exploring new ideas. They are self-motivated and are always ready to discover new things. My students are articulate and have amazing conversations in class.
I teach at a Title I school in New York where most of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite the hardships they face at home, my students are always eager to learn about the world they live in. They amaze me daily.
My Project
I am asking for six wobble chairs for our small group instruction table. Sitting in a hard chair all day could drive anyone to anxiety.
These wobble chairs are a great way for students to get their minds off of their need to move and back on the work at hand.
As an adult, I myself find it difficult to sit for long periods of time. For a child with ADHD, it is even more difficult. These chairs would be a great addition to our class. They allow students to get the movement they need without being a distraction to others.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
