This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Sitting in chairs can be b-o-r-i-n-g! We like to MOVE in our classroom, even when we are seated!
We are a bunch of energetic 5- and 6-year-olds who LOVE learning through movement and hands-on activities!
We are goofy, witty, and motivated to learn!
We are a co-taught classroom, servicing many students with high academic needs and risk factors. Our students come from high-poverty homes and many are English Language Learners. Our school, staff, and parents are very supportive in our learning goals!
My Project
Our students will use these wobbly seats for alternative seating as needed and when working small groups. We have some students who would benefit from this type of seat all day long, and others who may choose to never use it. We believe in differentiating for our students needs, so our little ones who need more help focusing or movement breaks will benefit from these seats!!
Alternative seating will give some of our little ones an opportunity to focus by enabling them to wiggly around as they complete their small group center, independent work, and so forth!
We currently have NO alternative seating, so this is a MUST for us!! Thank you!!
