My Students
We are a small, PK-12 school located in a rural area in Missouri. Our school has a high population of children who qualify for free and reduced lunches. They come from a variety of homes with parents who want the best for their children.
My kindergarten classroom is full of excited and active children who are so happy to be coming to school to meet other children and learn new things.
Kindergarten is a big change for many of our students who have never been to school before.
My Project
5 and 6 year olds can not and should not be expected to sit still in their chairs all day while they are at school. They need to have an outlet to move their bodies. Kindergarten kids learn best with different kinesthetic learning opportunities. Wobble stools help students "get moving" while still focusing on the necessary skills need as they learn to read, write and count.
When you ask our kindergarten kids if they would rather "sit still and listen" or "move and learn", they will tell you they want to "MOVE!" Let's get them some "Wobble" stools to help them!
