This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My sweet first graders live in a low-income, high poverty area where they face many challenges in their daily lives. Our school provides 100% free and reduced lunch. While they may struggle at home, they always come into the classroom with a smile on their face and a positive attitude. My students know that the classroom is their safe place, where they can come each day to learn and leave their worries at the door.

My Project
My students recently had the opportunity to share one wobble chair in the classroom while they did their work. That one wobble chair quickly became everyones' favorite, and it also helped them focus while they worked. While they learned to take turns sharing the wobble chair, I quickly realized that my 26 young students were growing more eager to get their turn to use the chair. As a class, we thought it would be cool if we could get more wobble chairs so that more students had the opportunity to use the chairs throughout the day.
