Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am the teacher of bright, creative, and resilient individuals. My students have a great love for learning, that makes teaching so enjoyable.
My school has over 25 countries represented in it.
My school is also a Title I school and 47% of our population is English Language Learners. My students live in neighborhoods where poverty and crime are the norm. My students face numerous struggles each day. They come from families that are not always able to provide supplies or academic assistance.
Given all of the challenges my students face each day my hardworking fourth graders comes to school every day with a smile on their faces and love of learning in their hearts.
It is very simple; my students love school. School is their safe place. It is more than just the place where they come to learn. It is the place where they are loved! In many ways, my students are typical fourth graders. They are full of wonder, joy, and laughter. They love being creative, books, music and technology. Life is not always easy for these kids, but they have learned that hard work and perseverance pays off. It is an honor to be their teacher.
My Project
The students in my fourth grade class are very active. I would like to support my students constant need for movement by providing them with these wobble stools that will support their needs in my classroom. I plan on using these stools daily when working with students in a small group to ensure they are able to stay focused on the lesson I am teaching.
My students overcome so many daily struggles that it's important they have every tools and resources I can give them to even the playing field of learning.
The stools in this project will enable my students to move while sitting and learning. Given that my students need and want to move, I would love them to have these stools to help them focused more on learning and less on moving.
