Wobble Stools and Fidgets to Increase Focus

My Project

My students are 6th graders who are excited to learn and collaborate with one another! My language arts and social studies classes contain a very diverse group of students, including English Language Learners (ELLs) and special education students. Many of my students learn best when they are allowed movement breaks in the classroom. They just finished elementary school and are now adapting to a schedule that does not include a traditional recess time.

Having more wobble stools will allow my students to stay focused and engaged in class when they feel the need to move.

This is especially true for students who have ADHD, autism, and sensory needs. Fidgets and wobble stools can also help students manage the stress and anxiety that often come with the transition to middle school.

With these materials, I will be able to provide my diverse learners with strategies and resources that will allow them to reach their full potential in the classroom.
