My Students
My class this year is an enthusiastic and eager mix of students from various cultural backgrounds. They have to work hard to overcome the obstacles that face them on a daily basis. However, they are eager to learn and always strive to do their best.
My school is a Title I school with 87 percent of our students participating in the free and reduced-price lunch program.
Several of my students participate in the weekend food backpack program, so they have food over the weekend. Additionally, these 7 to 8 year olds love to move! I would love to have more seating options available to them so that they can do their best learning.
My Project
I am requesting 10 wobble cushions to add some variety into my students' work spaces. My students are full of energy and hate being trapped in a hard chair all day.
Bodies were made to move; especially young, active bodies!
It is unreasonable to expect elementary students to sit still at their desks for hours and stay focused on their lessons. By donating to my project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Providing non-traditional seating choices in my classroom will allow students to wiggle, move, and release pent up energy without disrupting others as everyone engages in learning.
