My Project
Students learn in different ways. A chair and desk classroom may not work for all. Because of COVID a lot of my students were not exposed to the normal classroom where they had to sit for long periods of time. Wobble stools will allow my students to have the movement they need while being less distracting to the rests of the class. If students have the movement they need they are more likely to pay attention and not disrupt the class. This little movement will help my students be successful during times when we need to be at our seats for learning.
Students need to celebrate their differences and know that it is wonderful that they are not like every other student in the classroom.
During covid students did not make the growth that they needed to be successful. I can use the magnetic tiles for students to build words. Using a manipulative helps students to feel and maneuver the letters to make a word. They can learn their shapes with the magna-tiles, while building three dimensional shape. My first graders struggle with shapes. Most were not exposed to shapes since kindergarten was not a "normal" year.
I will use the table caddies for table supplies. My parents are not always able to supply the supplies that students need to be successful. In these caddies I will put the skin color crayons that represent everyone's skin color. I will also add a popit for stress relief. My students do not know how to hold a pencil correctly, the pencil grips will teach them to hold a pencil correctly and will improve their handwriting. We will use the buzzers for learning games. Students will be more willing to answer a question if they are able to hit a buzzer.
