Wobble, Baby, Wobble! Yoga Ball Seating for 5th Grade!

My students need five yoga ball chairs and florescent light covers.

My Students

My students are an awesome group of 19 fifth graders. We love to read but sometimes have trouble getting comfortable without the necessary resources. We are in a low income, high poverty, Title I school. Therefore, we often do not have resources available to add to our classroom. Furniture would be a big help! My students are very active, curious, and eager to succeed. I want to do whatever it takes to make my classroom a comfortable and safe place for them to go each day.

My Project

In my classroom I intend to use these yoga balls as chairs for my students to read in. In my experience, I've found that 5th graders like to move. With these yoga ball chairs, students will have an enjoyable place learn while also moving. This donation will make reading a fun activity and it will motivate the students to read. We do the "Daily 5" in our classroom, so the students will be using these chairs every single day! These chairs would make my students day more comfortable.

I am also requesting florescent light covers.

These covers will allow my classroom to be a calm and soothing place. I want my students to be able to relax and be as comfortable as possible in my room. The florescent lights are often harsh and can lead to headaches and anxiety.
