This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is comprised of 26 intelligent and creative kindergarteners who are eager to learn about the world around them! 23 of the 26 children speak a foreign language at home and have to put in a little extra focus to learn English at school. Most of my students receive free and reduced lunch here at school, and have limited resources available to them at home due to living a high poverty lifestyle. These barriers do not hold them back though!
Each child walks into the classroom each morning with a high desire to learn.
I use this opportunity to my advantage and make sure that my school day is packed with memorable lessons and activities for each child. There just is no time to waste!
My Project
Most of the time, students have a hard time sitting still in a chair for 6 hours of the day. These wobble chairs will allow students to have a different seating experience and stay engaged in their daily activities.
When you are 5 years old, the most memorable times in kindergarten are when you are engaged in something active.
Wobble chairs are very popular and adored by students in my classroom. Rotating the seats out to new children each week will allow each and every student the opportunity to experience learning in a new way!
My kids would be so thankful to have these wobble chairs in our classroom.
