My Students

The students in my classroom are as inquisitive as they are unique. Coming from a multitude of diverse backgrounds and individualized needs, my students are excited explorers and avid learners.

In my classroom, we know that everyone has a different set of strengths, experiences, and needs that they bring to the table, both academically and personally.

We strive together to make growing, learning, and developing a tremendous experience for ourselves and for our peers. In order to ensure that each student thrives, we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, problem solving techniques, and diverse materials.

My Project

During reading rotations, my kinders use the computer. The current literacy program we use is free, has ads, and isn't aligned to the Common Core. Often, the students will accidentally click on an ad, which takes them to an unknown website. The time it takes me to move the student back to the correct page is learning time lost, both for that student and the small reading group I should be working with.

Having a program like Speakaboos would spring my reading rotations into the 21st Century!

The program is kid-friendly, reading directions aloud to the students, and no ads means I can guarantee my students will be learning the whole time. Speakaboos is research based and optimized for growing vocabulary, boosting comprehension, inspiring motivation, and building confidence!
