Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students I teach are in a TK/K and 1st/2nd grade combination class! These young students are resilient, hard-working, and incredibly funny despite being in school for the first time... ONLINE! They LOVE writing, reading, and most of all... drawing! To describe them in one word: AMAZING!
My Project
These much-needed notebooks will provide students with paper necessary to practice writing at home during Distance Learning. Sketch pads will provide students space to practice and unleash their creativity and engage in meaningful (and FUN) art that is MUCH NEEDED. The students have so many ideas they share but often find themselves out of paper at home. They would love having a notebook and sketchpad to write and draw... without a limit!
With these resources, my students will be able to write, draw, and read that will allow them to flourish during distance learning in these difficult times.
There are also professional development books that I will utilize to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for students in my class!
