I teach 8th grade Earth Science in a high poverty middle school in Idaho that needs your help.

Technology is where we are headed in this world. No, that's where we are at right now. My students need the opportunity to be exposed to all different types of technology in order to help them in real life and in the science classroom.

I personally have a SmartBoard that I like to use in the classroom to actively engage my students using technology. Although, my school doesn't have an LCD projector that I can use on a daily basis. Without an LCD projector, my SmartBoard becomes virtually useless. Having an LCD projector will allow me to display interactive websites and displays onto the SmartBoard. Having full use of a SmartBoard allows the children to interact with a 5 foot wide computer screen. They will be able to draw diagrams of science models, demonstrate their knowledge to their classmates, and gain the ability to integrate technology into their everyday lives. I've seen the benefits of bringing technology into a classroom. I want to bring technology into my new classroom as well and allow my students the opportunities to engage themselves in learning science and technology hand in hand.

You have the ability to make a difference in my students' technology-deprived education. You may inspire a student who didn't like school or science before through the use of technology. I've seen this happen before with underprivileged students. You can make it happen again today.
