Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a Title One School which means we offer free meals to help families in need by providing breakfast, lunch, and an after school supper. Due to the pandemic our district decided to shut down schools for the safety of everyone's health. My current 5th graders are joining my Virtual Distance classroom regularly and are working hard to ensure that they learn even from a Distance!
My students are truly an incredible group, this is their last year in elementary and your donation will help them continue learning by helping receive the resources we need!
Every student comes to my class ready for a new beginning filled with challenges yet eager to take chances and become the best they can be! My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of curiosity! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging lessons, and challenging problems that allow them to think deeper. I noticed that we are running low in materials for our Math Warms, Art projects, and other resources.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything and I will make sure each and every one of my fifth grader receives the tools needed to continue learning! This is my students last year in elementary school not only are they making history by learning from home, but we are working hard to continue learning. My school is considered a Title One school where students receive free food but also the majority of our families come from low socio economic families.
The current pandemic is affecting my students because now we are learning from zoom and most of my students need help purchasing basic resources such as paper and pencils.
The tools such as the watercolor paint and paper will help continue with our art and science lessons. Paper , pencils, and markers will be used for math, writing, and reading activities. My students are creative and I incorporate STEAM lessons to build with creativity, innovation, and engineering skills. This project will benefit my fifth graders who are working hard via Distance Learning!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
