My Students
In my first grade classroom we are a community of learners constantly working towards being the best we can be. Our curiosity leads us towards continuous challenges and discoveries to help foster learning. My students are enthusiastic learners and truly want to try their hardest to achieve their goals. They are inquirers when it comes to technology and need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage as leaders in their world.
My students come from various life experiences and have a wide range of socioeconomic status.
We consider ourselves a family, supporting and taking care of each other. We love one another!
My Project
My students are in need of some tools to help them become more organized, engaged, and independent in our classroom.
In my First Grade Classroom, I try and help my students be as engaged and as independent as possible.
In my district, we finally received an upgrade to our View Sonic technology. With the new technology, I can provide my students with many different opportunities to be responsible for their own learning!
My students need the projector cart so that they can be leaders in my classroom and demonstrate under our document camera how to make words, read books during group read alouds, show their thinking during math, and so that I can show my entire class the proper way to use manipulatives. Currently, we are using the document camera on an old TV tray for my students to showcase their knowledge of how to properly write words and stories. It is not ideal, and the cart will give them a proper area.
Secondly, with the new technology, we lost valuable space in our room. My students need a White Board Easel for our small group area. With this easel, my students can be involved in their learning and use the whiteboard to practice writing words, help me write sentences, write stories, and eventually be leaders of their own small groups.
