This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us access the core curriculum! We need an Epson projector and a laptop to use technology provided in our new language arts and mathematics programs.
I am privileged to teach 4th and 5th grade students with multiple disabilities in a self-contained classroom.
Our school is located in a low-income area with a majority of second language learners. My students are greatly challenged when attempting to access grade level curriculum. Many struggle to retain concepts and therefore perform far below grade level. While they are eager to learn new things, they need additional supports to access the core curriculum and meet grade level standards.
My Project
Our district has adopted new language arts and mathematics programs that have technology components. Although my students would benefit from this visual technology, we have limited resources to use it. My students have special needs and would greatly benefit from these additional technology resources. Visually accessing the curriculum will help them learn and recall key concepts in all academic areas. In addition, I can make lessons more interactive when teaching whole groups.
My students are primarily visual learners and will benefit from a projector and a laptop.
Whole group lessons will be more interactive and allow students equal access to the curriculum. This will help them retain concepts and meet state standards. You can help my students with learning challenges bridge the gap with an Epson projector and laptop.
