This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is my second year as a Visual Art Teacher at a Title 1 school in Brooklyn, NY, where most of my students are newly arrived immigrants. For 99% of them, this is their first art class ever. Despite the challenges, their creativity and enthusiasm shine through. I want to give them an authentic art-making experience and treat them like the true artists they are.
My students create incredible work with Sharpies and colored paper—simple tools that unlock big dreams.
However, these supplies are expensive, and we need your help to continue inspiring their creativity. Your support would mean the world to me and my students.
