My Project

We plan to use the privacy carrels to create individual workspaces for students to be free of the many distractions of a busy second-grade classroom. Many of my students have attention issues and they work best when they have a space where they can focus better and have fewer distractions. Having tennis balls on the chairs will also help to keep the classroom quiet and free of the noise of chairs moving across the floor.

Helping students to become more responsible for their learning and practicing self-control is my goal.

Having the tools they need to work independently is key to being successful at school.

The students in my class love to come to school. They are enthusiastic learners and have a positive attitude. Many of the students come from families that have a lot of struggles such as food insecurity and homelessness. I strive to create a space that is safe, secure, and rich with materials that they might not have been exposed to at home.
