With Epson We Can Put Our Artwork In The Clouds

My students need an Epson Cloud Scanner to make our artwork digital, Colored Pencils, Oil Pastels, lots of Glitter, Glue, Tape, Erasers, Markers and Velcro to make books.

My Students

The artist gazes upon a reality and creates his own impression. The viewer gazes upon the impression and creates his own reality. - Robert Brault. I want my students to turn their knowledge of Greek Mythology into projects that will deepen their understanding of this rich history.

My K-5th grade Title I public school is in a rural area located a few miles from the beautiful coast of NC.

We serve many English as a Second Language students. As in most rural communities, jobs are scarce and money is tight. With state-wide district cuts, we must make the most of our supplies. My 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Academically Gifted students are very aware of their coastal surroundings and work towards keeping their community environmentally clean for the abundant wildlife and natural resources. My students appreciate beauty in nature and are always creating this natural beauty in their assignments and projects. They learn best when they can apply their creative skills to all aspects of their learning. We have an entire semester devoted to Greek Mythology and would like to fill this time with activities that will bring their learning to life by making books and illustrating their favorite myths.

My Project

I am requesting an Epson Scanner for my students' artwork and illustrations of their favorite myths. This Epson scanner will digitalize my students' artwork so that we can make PowerPoint presentations and videos. My students are studying Greek Mythology and have become fascinated with the gods and goddesses and their stories. I have found I can teach all the Common Core strands with the myths of ancient Greece. We study reading, history, vocabulary, grammar, affixes, and critical thinking skills when we read the myths. We also take great joy in creating projects with the myths. We have received the books we need and now need glue and tape, glitter (lots of glitter,) colored pencils, and oil pastels so that we can let our creativity flow through our book making. My students want to make trading cards, write their own myths, and illustrate books for a greater understanding of how these myths relate to our life today. They don't even realize they are learning while they are creating.

Help my students create colorful books of their favorite Greek Myths.

They will be so excited to read and create activities of the Greek myths. This will further their understanding and also give them an outlet for their creativity. When their natural creativity is applied to their learning, the results are amazing. My students are fascinated by Greek Mythology and want to express their understanding through creative activities. Please help them express themselves through their art.
