Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are my “why”. They help me see a new perspective each day. Every one of them carries with them their own story and a unique path. My students are from all walks of life. Being a title one school, it is my hope to provide them a space that feels like “home”. A place where they can study comfortably with access to resources to complete their work.

The couch will go in our reading corner accompanied by the rug, floor lamp, floor cushions, book shelf and book case.

This area will be used during our study hall and WIN periods for students to have a space dedicated to their individual needs in academics.

The office chairs will be used at our various work spaces/desks during corrective reading, math, ELA and science/social studies small groups focused on filling gaps for students who need extra support.

The students will benefit academically as comfort and accessibility plays a large roll in education. Equipping our intervention areas with these materials will replace current items that are over 20 years old. This will support their education and provide much needed comfort during interventions.

Flexible seating, consumable materials, organizational tools, 8th Grade promotion dance supplies and furniture to house items will provide my students with a space that makes learning fun and comfortable.
