My Students
My students inner reader has been awakened with the powerful words of audiobooks, so now I need personal CD players that can fulfill their needs.
I teach a wonderful group of Fourth graders at a rural, Title I elementary school.
More than 50 percent of the students at my school receive free or reduced lunch. My classroom is one that is diverse in learning styles, cultures, and interests. It is the varied backgrounds of my students that evokes wonderful classroom discussions and allows my students to learn from their peers perspectives respectfully.
My Project
Just the thought of portable cd players in our classroom brings great joy of the many ways it will impact my students. My students will no longer have to wait for a cd player to be available to enjoy listening to an audiobook. For my students who read below grade level, they will still have the same opportunity to read and listen to audiobooks that their classmates read. The cd players will also assist my students who are struggling with decoding because they can actually hear the words correctly. The listening center will help build fluency, comprehension, and oral listening skills. Lastly, the cd players will provide a wonderful entertaining reading and listening outlet for all my student

My students who struggle with reading will no longer have to worry about not having the same opportunities of their peers because of the books they are capable of reading.
