My Students
New netbooks....check. Mouse and mouse pads....check. Headphones and flashdrives....check. A printer durable enough to print completed assignments from 19 wireless netbooks....check. Black and color toner that allow us to see what we've printed......
I teach a group of "print happy" fifth graders at a Title 1 school in north Alabama.
They recently received netbooks through a grant from our school system. We have gathered all the other resources we need to use these wonderful pieces of technology except, toner to use with our printer.
My Project
Our current printer is not compatible with our new technology. It doesn't even have a USB port that we could use to hook up the netbooks! We just recently received a new wireless printer. My students will only have to press print from the comfort of their desks, or any other place in our class! We need full size black and color toner to keep the printed papers flowing. Since we are working our way to a paper and pencil free classroom, this toner will help students have a colorful hard copy of completed assignments and assessments for parents to review.
These resources are the last components needed to upgrade the technology in our classroom.
