Wipe, Snack, Repeat: Fueling Minds and Clean Slates!
Help me give my students cereal bars, snacks, a place to charge their phone, positive affirmation stickers and classroom signs coloring books and markers to destress. My students are always asking me for Band-Aids, tampons, or tissues.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My goal for this project is to create a classroom environment that supports not only my students’ academic success but also their emotional and physical well-being. I believe that a classroom should be a space where students feel comfortable, cared for, and motivated to learn. The specific items I’m requesting will make a significant difference in the daily experience of my students by addressing both practical and emotional needs.
Whiteboard markers will enhance interactive learning, allowing students to actively engage in lessons and group activities.
Supplies like tissues, paper towels, tampons, and band-aids ensure that students can feel comfortable, safe, and cared for, no matter what needs arise throughout the day. A phone charging station will help students stay connected with family if needed, especially for those who may not have stable access to phone charging at home.
To support mental health, I’m including positive affirmation stickers and posters, along with coloring books and markers that provide a calming outlet for self-expression. Snacks will help keep students energized and focused, especially those who may come to class hungry. Lastly, all-purpose cleaning supplies will maintain a clean and healthy learning environment, keeping everyone comfortable and safe.
My students are unique in their resilience, creativity, and eagerness to learn, despite the challenges they may face outside the classroom. By providing these items, I hope to support each student fully, helping them feel empowered, focused, and ready to succeed in an environment that meets their needs holistically.
