This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a fabulous elementary school. Recently, we have been designated as a Gold STEAM school. I would like to continue our STEAM adventure for this new school year with my fourth graders. Math and science will be infused to show they go hand-in-hand with reading and writing. We have an incredible robotics program in the school and enrichment programs that encourage students in these subject areas. I'm excited to show students how these subjects are interdisciplinary. In order to accomplish this, I need to teach to their needs. My students have varying learning disabilities and all learn differently. Utilizing special tools will help them understand the curriculum and see concepts differently in a way they understand.
My Project
This dry erase desk will enhance my math center. Many students need to see the numbers larger where they can easily identify their mistakes. My special education students become more interactive with the lesson and can learn through an alternate manner. Learning is differentiated, all students learn differently, making this desk a great asset to my classroom. I can roll it to each team and work with those students who have difficulty with the math concept. This provides them with an accommodation that will help them succeed in the classroom. Please help donate this dry erase desk. My students will benefit!
