Wipe Away Instead of Throw Away!

Help me give my students laminating pouches, journals, pens, dry erase markers, a magnetic calendar, binders, and paper so we can reuse our resources and help preserve the environment!

My Project

As an educator, laminating materials is a common practice. It is essential for me to have vibrant, colorful visuals for my special education students. However, I also aim to be mindful of waste and avoid the need to constantly reprint or recreate resources for each new group of students every year.

By utilizing lamination pouches, colorful paper, and binders, we can contribute to environmental conservation by preserving our resources and projects for long-term use.

This approach ensures that our materials can withstand the test of time, eliminating the need for repeated printing whenever new resources are required.

Lamination pouches play a crucial role in safeguarding our visuals, classroom schedules, and essential class materials (particularly for reading, writing, and math) for sustained durability. Students can utilize dry erase markers to engage with prompts in their binders daily, promoting regular practice. Instead of constantly generating new materials on fresh paper, we can reuse these resources annually, thus minimizing waste.

Furthermore, lamination pouches offer a means to safeguard student work as exemplars. Encouraging students to respond to open-ended questions daily and maintain a journal facilitates a convenient method to organize their work and allows them to express their thoughts and emotions creatively using colorful gel pens. This practice benefits special education students and mainstream students alike, offering a refreshing break for their minds in a unique and imaginative manner.
