My Project
Most of the students in our skate club have learned to skateboard for the first time in their lives. The students have shown courage and perseverance to try something that can be challenging and scary. Through unlocking the thrills of skateboarding, these important life skills have been enhanced in club members leading them to take on something even more inspirational - surfing. Students from our school's skateboard club hit the waves at Rockaway beach this summer through Burton's Chill Foundation which inspires young people through board sports and builds a more equitable outdoor community.
Though Summer waves have passed, the students want to keep the momentum of their surf progress.
Your donation will give us several surfskates to add to our quiver. All skate club members will be able to practice their pumping motions on the blacktop so that when the summer weather and waves come again, they will be ready!
