My Students

My school is a charter school located in North Minneapolis. Eighty-five percent of our school's students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Students come to school each day eager to learn and ready to work hard. I teach 4th grade math and science! Our school is a tight-knit community of students and teachers who come to school every day and work extremely hard.

I want my scholars to leave each day feeling empowered, enabled, and engaged in their learning and their well rounded education experience.

My Project

Many of my students have few if any books at home. I want to be able to provide them with a small gift before winter break, so they can spend some time doing a non-screen time activity. I hope they can get lost in the imagination of the story and enjoy their time reading it. My students love learning and they love bringing learning into their homes. They could read this story with older or younger siblings and or a parent or guardian. I’ve never been able to provide my class with their own brand new book, so this would be so exciting!
