This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a small school in a Title I district filled with students who are creative and love making gifts for their families for the holidays! There are a total of sixty students in our third grade. Among the three classrooms, we share three different sets of twins. We are trying our best to all do the same gifts for our families! Students love to make items for their families and take them home as gifts when we go on our Winter Holiday break!
The gifts that we are making are a stenciled wood ornament and a Happy Holidays finger paint light bulbs on a white canvas!
The wood slices will be painted and then the stencils will be used to design a holiday themed ornament. The canvases will be used to paint fingerprints on, and then the students will add a black line to resemble light bulbs. All of our art projects are universal winter objects that can be personalized for the students traditions, and won't offend those who may not celebrate Christmas or other typical winter holidays. Please help to fund this project for our kids!
