Winter and Mid-Year Supplies

Help me give my students a space heater for a comfortable temperature classroom for optimized learning, mid-year restock on PPE, and other basic classroom supplies.

My Students

The goal of this project is to serve students who are lacking adequate long-term PPE. Our school maintains 50% minority enrollment with a majority African American/Black minority population. Forty percent of students are assessed to be economically disadvantaged. Our students may not be able to drive themselves to obtain masks and personal hand sanitizers. They may not have the expendable funds, and time to find these necessary supplies.

My Project

A generous surplus of Donors Choose funds has allowed me the flexibility to further invest in the classroom. The primary item to purchase is a heater. The classroom becomes very cold due to hallway doors opening directly to the outdoors.

Students find it difficult to learn when they are too cold...their energy would be better focused on their studies!

Students with minimal access to personal PPE have utilized the cloth masks and hand sanitizer from the previous Donors Choose project. A mid-year restock of PPE essentials will allow students to continue pursuing their education safely. Cloth masks and travel-sized Clorox wipes will be so helpful for students.

Additional classroom supplies were added to meet the donation surplus minimum. A surge strip with a longer cord will address a tripping hazard with the shorter corded surge strip I have currently. Card stock paper to print student resumes that they can use to apply to colleges and careers. File Tabs and pens to keep important student documents organized.
