This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Next school year, I’m starting fresh at a new school with an amazing group of 8th graders. Many of my students come from communities and don’t have access to books at home. They are bright, curious, full of stories, and they deserve a classroom library that reflects who they are and introduces them to the wider world.

This project will help me build a diverse, engaging library filled with books that feature a wide range of voices, cultures, and experiences.

These books will not only spark a love of reading but also build empathy, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. My goal is to create a space where every student can see themselves in the pages and also see beyond their own experiences.

By supporting this project, you’re giving students the tools to grow as readers, thinkers, and global citizens. You’re helping to create a classroom where stories connect us all.
