My Project
Science is exciting and dynamic. Students should be given the opportunity to design and learn how the scientific method can be used to solve problems or reach a goal. Using various materials allows students to see the technological advantage of using certain materials in a design. In this STEM activity, students will work in cooperative groups to design a working windmill that has the ability to lift a specified amount of mass the fastest over a specified distance.
It is always amazing to watch students apply scientific principles and understand how they can be utilized in real world situations. The engineering process is an important way to show students how through trial and error, they can work to achieve a goal.
