Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing human beings! They are full of life and have endless potential to do so many wonderful things. My school is a Title I school in a poverty-stricken​ community.

Our school consists of a very large English language learner population.

All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of our parents struggle to help meet the needs of school supplies and the needs of their children. Regardless of these circumstances, my students overcome! They are learning how to face challenges and grow stronger academically, socially, and emotionally, preparing them for the next level of life.

I believe that these students deserve every opportunity this world has to offer and I am determined to help them get it.

These students can change the world with their brilliant minds and can climb out of the cycle of poverty through the gift of education. They will learn that the world is theirs for the taking with hard work, dedication, and knowledge.

My Project

A year ago, I changed the February narrative. Instead of doing Valentine's Day books, YOU came in clutch and funded African American book project after project. The collection grew leaps and bounds. But the problem, if you'd call it that, is now our Valentine's Day books are significantly lacking. That's where this project comes into play.

Roses are red, violets are blue, we love books, and we hope you do too!

We now have a great amount of Black History books that we keep out all year around, but celebrate especially in February. We are also in the process of getting Chinese New Year books. That leaves us with Valentine's Day books. With your help, we can now grow this collection for the students that want to read about the holiday and all the poetry and love it has to offer!
