My Project
Our goal for this project is to give students a rigorous learning opportunity about our local wilderness and Open Spaces. They plan to chat with our local city while capturing wildlife in video and photos to convince them to keep our local Quail Hollow open space and prevent further development. This community service helps our local wildlife and the delicate ecosystem just East of our School - full of natural sagebrush, raptors like Peregrine Falcons and red-tailed Hawks, and nesting places for their young. Our city is considering further housing development that would destroy their natural habitats. Our students are special because they learn to fly rotorcraft and make advanced maneuvers in the air while also taking high quality photos of our beautiful natural surroundings. This drone will make a difference in their learning because they are able to use autonomous controls during flight, so their focus can be the subjects in their photography. The students will be outreaching to local legislators and providing community service by promoting their ideas to local businesses, and other influential community members.
