My fourth graders are absolutely wild about reading! Our classroom library is constantly growing and changing to meet the reading trends and wide range of readers. My goal is to surround students with a wide range of books so they can read freely, discover new favorites, and fall in love with reading—again and again.
There’s nothing more joyful than watching a student completely immersed in a book, eyes wide and fingers flipping pages with excitement.
I believe that when children have access to books they truly enjoy—and the freedom to choose them—they develop into lifelong readers. To continue nurturing this passion, our library needs the latest and greatest titles that spark curiosity and enthusiasm.
Some of my students need additional tools to help them focus and feel comfortable while reading. Items like fidgets, noise-canceling headphones, and computer mice can make a huge difference for students who benefit from sensory supports or prefer reading on digital platforms.
