This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I’m hoping to add this nice carpet with colors and shapes to help my kindergarten-2nd grade students do activities outside of their seats and give them a comfy place to sit on our hard linoleum floors.

The colors and shapes will help my students memorize basics art concepts, as well as provide an easy to reference seating guide when we practice social emotional learning skills like standing and sitting in order, or sitting for an art demonstration.

These students deserve a great art room and after years of Wilbur Cross students not having a consistent art teacher, this will be my first of many projects to bring equity to our classroom and the school’s art program overall.
