it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My second graders are so smart and amazing!
They are all special in their own way.
They attend a Chicago Public School located in a high poverty and violence-prone community. Despite the obstacles they face, they come to school optimistic. As their teacher, I want to instill in them that through learning, we can overcome challenges. I also want my students to have as many experiences as possible in a safe and nurturing environment. Thank you for taking our project into consideration.
My Project
My students want a Nintendo Wii U and TV to stay fit. It is unhealthy to be sitting down the whole day. They ask for games that get them up and moving, especially during bad weather when recess is inside.
This student-driven project will allow the students to be fit in a fun, modern way.
The students will dance to their favorite songs for brain breaks throughout my lessons and use the Balance Board when it rains and during the cold Chicago months for indoor recess. These resources will allow my students to be active at least 60 minutes a day in a safe manner, which will positively impact their physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being.
