Wii Want To Be Healthy!

My students need a Nintendo Wii Sports Resort Pak game console, Wii Fit Plus complete package, and a My Fitness Coach 2 Exercise and Nutrition complete package.

My Students

Wii want to be healthy and active!!!! The students in my program are different than most students in our school, but that doesn't mean that they don't want to be active and be healthy! We just need to get a little more creative is all. A Nintendo Wii system would allow us to do just that!

The students that this donation would benefit range in age from 14 to age 21.

These students are multi-handicapped, many of whom are non-verbal and have physical disabilities that limit their range of motion and movement. Despite what may seem like insurmountable challenges to many, these students want to work on moving and grooving their way to health. They are typical teenagers who want to work on the same goals and skills as their classmates. These goals just require the teaching staff to come up with creative and fun way to adapt to their needs.

My Project

The Nintendo Wii system evens the playing field for many students with physical challenges! Students who are in wheelchairs or who have difficulty moving their legs are able to participate in Wii sport and Fitness programs in ways that they may not be able to in real life. This provides great incentive to be active, be healthy and to participate!!! In addition, the Wii system gives students who are non-verbal a way to participate in games/activities and interact in a positive and healthy way with their peers.

Your donation towards the Wii want to be healthy project will not only allow multi-handicapped students access to physical activities and a healthy lifestyle, but it will also foster a sense of pride, self-esteem and fun!!!
