A lot of my students do not have access to any technological tools in their lives because their families simply cannot afford it. Technology is an absolute need in our everyday lives. It is imperative for children to learn about it and use it as much as possible.
Our school is a diverse, multi-cultural center.
It is located in a working-middle class neighborhood in King County, Washington State. My students possess various skills and physical abilities. They are an ethnically diverse group of students ranging from kindergarten through the 6th grade. As a PE teacher I see all students in our school twice a week during their PE classes. A lot of my students do not have access to any technological tools in their lives because their families simply cannot afford it. Please help my students overcome this problem by bringing Nintendo Wii Sport to our Physical Educational class and to our school.
My Project
Help us get Nintendo Wii Sport for my students to use during their PE classes. We believe that Wii sports can be an alternative for kids to try sports they would normally not try. Nintendo Wii will provide my students with a fun learning experience and make them more fit and healthy. Students with different levels of skills and abilities will be able to burn calories without feeling like they are in fact exercising. Interactive virtual reality games and other technological equipment have been proven to increase physical activity, motivation, awareness, cardiovascular health, and maximize individual efforts among students to reach their best fitness potential. I plan to use Nintendo Wii sport games as one of the stations during PE class, where all the students will be able to have access to this technological tool and learn how to maintain or improve their physical fitness during fun games and/or exercises.
