We want to focus on the positive! Our school is in the beginning stages of implementing a School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention & Support Plan (PBIS). Our students are being rewarded with a yellow ticket when they are "caught" being ready, respectful, and responsible.
Our school is high-poverty, title I, urban PreK-8 school in Pennsylvania.
Our students face many obstacles in their lives. Many students, however, come to school ready, respectful, and responsible.
By implementing a School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention & Support Plan (PBIS) for our school, we are rewarding students in positive ways for being ready, respectful, and responsible. We want to change the culture of our school. We want our school to be a place with less discipline referrals and more students doing the right thing. We want our classrooms to have less negativity and more positive interactions.
My Project
A Nintendo Wii would be an excellent way to reward students while developing positive relationships with students. We plan to use the Nintendo Wii as an experiential reward for our PBIS plan. Students "caught" being ready, respectful, or responsible will have the opportunity to play Wii with a teacher, principal, counselor or other faculty member as a reward. Students will be so excited to play a fun and engaging Wii game with a teacher, principal, counselor, or other faculty member.
Our district is in financial turmoil; we do not have extra money for incentives like a Wii.
Your donation will help support our School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention & Support Plan (PBIS) and will help us achieve our goals of a more safe, caring, and peaceful school! Teaching students to be ready, respectful, and responsible will greatly impact their future interactions in school and beyond! Your donation will support their success!
