Help me give my students new brushes, watercolor pencils and artist trading cards. New feathers and wiggle eyes as the ones we had are currently living in the air dry clay insects made on Earth Day.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students who have spent several years learning from home are back in classes and ready to explore. Watercolor pencils are a great way to draw then paint tiny trading card masterpieces. It is exciting to watch as young learners begin to communicate thoughts, ideas, expectations and joy while learning the difference between a flat brush and a round brush.
Being an educator during COVID has taught me to embrace the unfamiliar and model flexibility, I challenge learners to lean in with me as we gently press goggily eyes onto their Heather Galler flores en un florero.
Choices and challenges are becoming more normalized as learners embrace being the captain of their own ship. Celebrating imperfection, discussing challenges and discoveries, answering questions themselves about what's next, my room is filled with people who are learning about themselves while exploring new materials.
