Wiggly Kindergarteners in Need!

My students need multiple forms of seating throughout the classroom in order to meet their different needs.

My Students

Our students come from all over Boston, ready to explore, learn, and have fun. They all come from different backgrounds and families, but they all come to kindergarten with excitement. I teach at a school where some of our students need help and require free and reduced lunches. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I do all that I can to ensure that my students get the education they deserve. I want all of my students leaving my classroom feeling proud and successful.

My kindergarteners are fascinated, excited, and engaged in their learning.

They participate in a lot of hands-on activities in order to connect with their learning. As an Expeditionary Learning school, they are able to explore and discover on their own.

My Project

In kindergarten, students have a difficult time staying in their seats to complete a project or game. With our 9 hour school day, we want to help our students feel as comfortable as possible. Having multiple forms of seating will help the students choose the best option to help them stay focused and comfortable.

Our goal is to turn fidgeting into active learning!

By getting floor pillows, ball chairs, and stools, students are able to choose what works best for their learning style. In classrooms today, students are not always working at their desks. We want our students to find the right seat and the right area in the classroom that helps them learn!
