My Students
My classroom is full of energetic kindergarten children who are military dependents. Many of them have parents who are deployed or who have been wounded in action as our school is situated on a military installation. My classroom also serves students with a wide range of abilities so I strive to provide a loving, supportive, and safe place each day through my classroom for all of my students. I encourage a lot of movement in the classroom because brain-based whole body activities propel them further toward success while engaging them in their learning! I also work to take them on additional field trips and provide learning experiences outside the 4 walls of our classroom. Wouldn't you love to learn like that?
My Project
Can you remember the last time you had to sit at a desk for a long conference or meeting? I didn't realize how my students felt, until I sat through a workshop all day. I was miserable! When we are given the choice to get comfortable to complete a task we are more motivated to do our very best. Your donation will help the learning environment of our classroom by giving my students more choice. These 4 wobble chairs allow for movement while seated thus supporting more attention and focus. This encourages my little learners to make a choice of which seating arrangement is best for their learning. By giving them a choice I am helping them begin to learn how to make appropriate choices to make them more successful in the classroom.
My little wiggly bottom kindergarten students are eager to learn and explore new ideas every day!
Their choice in seating allows them to further identify themselves. My students view each other as a family. My students love to work together and learn from each other. I am inspired by their drive and curiosity about the world. I want to be able to provide the best learning environment possible for my little, eager learners. These choices are exciting for students and further engages them when not every activity or lesson is high interest. By having higher engagement students will be more successful. This enables them to become 21st century learners.
