This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a second grade teacher in Arizona at a Title I school. At my school 79% of students qualify for free and reduced priced lunch. I have the sweetest group of students who come to school each day ready to learn.
I want to provide them with the best learning environment for their needs.
Each of my students have different home lives, which I can't control, so each day I want to give my students an environment that they feel safe, comfortable and loved.
My Project
There are 27 eager little learners in my classroom. They come to school each day ready to learn. Most of them have a hard time focusing and get the wiggles while sitting in their uncomfortable plastic chair during our 60 minute learning times. I currently have one Wobble chair that my students love using! They have requested and come up with the idea to submit a project to try to get more flexible seating options such as the requested Hokki stools and balance balls.
When my students are able to sit on the Wobble chair, my students and I have both seen a difference in their learning.
I love watching my students be successful each day in class!
