Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Inquisitive minds, warm hearts, helpful hands, and sponges for brains-these are just some of the ways you could describe the students that walk through our classroom doors each day.
Our students, with limited English skills, live in a high-poverty, big-city community where the goal is to help them blossom into productive learners and speakers.
Their willingness to work hard and achieve is evident in all that they do. They may come from homes where paying the rent and buying food is the priority. Therefore, it is so important for us to support them in as many ways as we can to give them every chance to succeed.
My Project
By adding chair sox the the bottom of each chair leg, the students will be able to wiggle and wobble as they work without disturbing others or themselves. This will keep them on track to be more productive and learn more! The addition of colorful markers and erasers will make lessons more interesting when we sit together in the meeting area.
The addition of chair sox will give each child the ability to move around to whatever position works the best for them without it being a distraction to anyone else.
Whether there is a quiet student who works diligently all day without being distracted or a bouncy, happy student who learns best by standing then sitting then standing again, the chair sox will cut out any sounds from the chairs as they move.
