Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Second grade is a time of big growth, academically, socially, and emotionally. My students are full of energy, questions, creativity, and curiosity. This project gives them tools to help stay focused, feel calm, and explore the world around them.

STEM kits like the ant farm, ladybug land, and butterfly enclosure will be shared with my grade level team; they will enrich our reading and science lessons by sparking wonder and building observation skills through real-life experiences.

These hands-on materials are especially powerful for visual and tactile learners, making our curriculum more inclusive and engaging for every student.

Flexible seating like floor cushions and fidgety feet bands will support students who need to move to learn, while organizational tools like mailboxes and turn-in bins will help them stay responsible and independent throughout the day.

What I love most about second graders is how curious, joyful, and genuine they are. They’re full of love, both for learning and for each other. Every day, they bring kindness, silliness, and wonder into our classroom. I’m so excited for the new year to begin and hope to start them off with new materials.

This is my second year teaching second grade, and I now have a deeper understanding of what helps my students thrive. With your support, I want to give them a space that meets their needs, fuels their imagination, and helps them grow into confident learners and caring classmates.

From squishy rewards to science kits and calming tools, every item in this project was chosen with love to support the incredible little humans I get to teach every day.
