My Students
I am the Learning Design Coach at an elementary school of more than 500 students from PreK to 5th grade. I have the unique opportunity to aid their teachers in creating learning experiences that are hands on and inquiry based.
These students vary in race, socioeconomic status, learning styles, and abilities, but they all come together within the walls of our school to be life long learners with an appreciation for inquiry and world knowledge as the first International Baccalaureate elementary school in our county.
My Project
At our school, we are trying to make our media center the "Hub of Learning" by creating a space where students can feed their passions and explore their wonders. We hope to do this by making cozy spaces for students to curl up with a good book as well as spaces for then to research and engage in inquiry projects.
Students will feed their passions and explore their wonders through a variety of modalities.
We want every student to be able to realize their potential and discover how they learn best, whether it is needing to be nestled up in a bean bag chair, or needing to move their body to regain focus or to get their creative juices flowing. Beanbags chairs and sensory vinyls are just. step towards our vision of an amazing "Hub of Learning".
