This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are curious, brave, and inspire me every day. I am constantly learning from them, and the confidence that they build as time goes on. They are comfortable with who they are and also aspire to push themselves in ways that go beyond limitations. They are sweet, silly, curious, and are developing into aspirational leaders that want the best for themselves and others.
It is hard to consider what I do as a job because it is truly a part of who I am.
When told "those kids are lucky to have you," I think to myself "I am the lucky one."
My Project
In my classroom, I want to create different spaces where my students can move around, work on materials, and feel the most comfortable. With flexible seating, students are able to choose a location based on how they're feeling that day or what project they are working on. Students are able to create spaces for themselves and also spaces with others where they can collaborate and have discussions. I want students to feel comfortable, to feel safe, to feel like they are part of a community, and with flexible seating, I can bring my students together!
