This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My transitional kindergarten students bring energy and joy to our classroom daily.
They enter the virtual classroom bouncing and skipping, ready to embrace the day.
They are bright and curious and look forward to each new classroom experience. These young cherubs are thinkers, creators, problem solvers, and collaborators. I want to bring rich experiences and tap into their insatiable appetite and natural curiosity to learn. Providing them access to collaborative and innovative hands-on and heads-on learning in an exciting and motivating way while opening doors to the magic of the school experience is essential. Even though our class meets virtually, for now, we are still a beautiful community of learners.
What better way to help build a caring community than by creating an environment of choice, empathy, and respect for one another than through a comfortable and rich learning environment with options.
I want to give them opportunities and tools that will help them as they continue to grow and learn.
My Project
As some students begin returning to the classroom it is important to offer students a variety of comfortable seating and tech options so the students can choose what best suits their needs. Comfortable seat cushions made out of easily sanitized material will add a comfortable and practical option for floor seating. I would like to create a welcoming and positive environment during these uncertain times.
Allowing students to choose what is in their socially distanced space will give the students a chance to feel comfortable and valued.
Keeping our classroom continuously clean while keeping it child-friendly and comfortable is a top priority.
With these durable, easy-to-clean cushions, I will be able to wipe down student seating easily and often disinfect. This will help in preventing the spread of germs. Please help me keep my students safe and comfortable with these colorful cushions.
