This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with students from a community in need. These students are all part of the free lunch program because of their economic status and the majority of them are learning English along with just learning how to be in school. In general, their families support their education in any way possible but language barriers can make this difficult. My families have a hardworking spirit and look to the teacher to provide a better future for their children.

Kindergarten students are still learning how to be in school and they wiggle throughout the day!

I want to provide them with opportunity to get movement and core strength while the learn the numbers and letters. Gaiman Balance Balls and Kore Kids Wobble chairs will do just that. They will be able to work while getting those wiggles out!

My Project

Over my entire teaching career, my students have loved the opportunity to have seating options. My options have been very limited in the past and I am hoping these resources will give them more options. My students have asked for balance balls specifically to "play" while they learn. Since these do not work for all students, I added the Kore Kids Wobble Stool so there is another option.

My kindergartners will be given choice in how they learn with these stools and balance balls.

These will be placed throughout the room so students can use the tool best for their needs. Some students will learn better on a stool in the morning and the floor in the afternoon. By giving them choice, I am also giving them ownership in their learning process. One of the greatest aspects of these seating options in that my students will be working their core muscles while they learning how to read. These students need every moment of movement and exercise they can get during the day.
